Indonesian President Confirmed that Microsoft Wants to Invest Data Centres

Microsoft Corp is set to invest in Indonesian data centers – the President recently announced that after a meeting with Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella. The country also organized an event celebrating the presence of Microsoft for 25 years, where the company’s CEO was present. Both the party will make the regulatory changes soon to facilitate the move. Joko Widodo, President of Indonesia, mentioned in a statement, “Microsoft wants to invest immediately in Indonesia… So within a week, we will decide a new, simple regulation to support the investment.”

Furthermore, according to a collaborative report by Google, Temasek Holdings, and Bain & Company, Indonesia’s digital economy is the fastest-growing and largest in Southeast Asia. It is expected to hit nearly $130 billion by 2025 – compared to $40 billion in 2019.
