Microsoft has been slowly enabling more Azure services to operate on other clouds, on-premises, and, most recently, on Kubernetes clusters. Microsoft added more “Arc-enabled” Azure services to its list on day one of its virtual Build 2021 developers conference. It’s also introducing some incremental capabilities to its “Azure Applied AI Services.”
More Microsoft cloud services, such as Azure App Service, API Management, Logic Apps, Functions, and Event Grid, are now Arc-enabled as of this week (in preview form). They can be deployed on Kubernetes clusters, as well as on-premises, edge, and multi-cloud Azure environments.
