
Microsoft is working with Amazon on a new Android Subsystem for Windows to bring Android apps to Windows 11. Officials from Microsoft admitted this week that this feature will not be ready for the October 5 start of the general rollout of Windows 11. However, given the presence of a placeholder Android Subsystem for the Windows app on the Microsoft Store, Insider testers may be able to try it out sooner rather than later.
Microsoft executives announced earlier this year that the upcoming Android subsystem will provide a proxy native app between the Android and Windows app models.
