
VMware has announced plans to buy Octarine, a firm that provides a security platform for Kubernetes applications. The acquisition will enable VMware to integrate Octarine’s technology into the Carbon Black Cloud. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The move comes from VMware to simplify DevSecOps and enable cloud-native environments to be intrinsically secure from development through runtime. Octarine plans to continue expanding its platform functionality post the acquisition.
