The US Senate has recently advanced a sweeping package of legislation planned to boost the nation’s ability to compete with Chinese technology. Basically, Congress is increasingly seeking to take a tough line against the Chinese bill.
This is one of the few bipartisan sentiments within the divided US Congress – closely controlled by President Biden’s fellow Democrats.
As explained by Chuck Schumer, “We have put ourselves in a very precarious position of potentially falling behind the rest of the world in the technologies and industries that will define the next century.”
