US Judiciary Committee Approves Proposal for Big Tech Crackdown

The US House of Representatives Judiciary Committee has now formally approved the report accusing Big Tech organizations of buying or crushing smaller companies. This was announced by Representative David Cicilline in a statement recently.

This blueprint for legislation will rein in the power of the likes of Alphabet’s Google, Apple, Amazon, Facebook. However, the companies have denied any such claims.

Initially, after the review, the officials suggested extensive changes to the antitrust law, describing dozens of instances where they claim companies had misused their market power. As explained by Cicilline, “Amazon, Apple, Google, and Facebook each hold monopoly power over significant sectors of our economy. This monopoly moment must end.”
