Upstash, an early-stage start-up, is developing a serverless data platform for data-intensive app developers, with a consumption-based pricing mechanism.
The start-up has announced a $1.9 million seed round from Mango Capital, AngelList, ScaleX Ventures and individual industry angels. The funds will be used to assist two open source projects, Redis and Kafka.
According to Upstash founder and CEO Enes Akar, setting up database infrastructure in the cloud is costly and Upstash intends to abstract away the operational overhead.
