After Huawei’s blacklisting failed to cut off supplies to the company, the U.S. government may work to stop foreign shipments of products with U.S. technology to Huawei reports Reuters. The expansion of the rules is being considered even though the government agreed to grant some reprieves on the existing ban.

The U.S. authorities will regulate sales of cell phone chips made with U.S.-origin technology, software or components to Huawei if the Commerce Department makes the proposed rule changes.
