Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. has announced plans to build a new three-nanometer chip manufacturing facility in Arizona, which will coexist with a five-nanometer plant that is already under construction and scheduled to begin operations in 2024.
Morris Chang, the company’s founder, revealed the plan, adding that the specifics are still being worked out. But if TSMC moves forward, the new facility would be an addition to its current location in Phoenix, Arizona.
