A technology-innovation team from the Wirecard is about to join a digital innovation unit set up by a Berlin financial technology group, Finleap. The German payments company had collapsed in June due to a falsification case. It filed for insolvency after admitting that 1.9 billion euros were held in the overseas trustee accounts – which did not exist. Many officials have been held on suspicion for running a criminal racket for defrauding creditors.
Joern Leogrande, head at Wirecard innovation labs, comes to the formal opening of the insolvency proceedings that are most likely to lead to job losses. He will now head the Corporate Innovation and Corporate Venture Building unit at Finleap – supporting in digital transformation.
