Taiwan cloud data center region plans unveiled by Microsoft

Software giant Microsoft announced the plans for setting up Taiwan’s first cloud data center region. The organization intends to make a significant investment in developing digital skills in at least 200,000 personnel by 2024. They intend to tap into the Asian design hub and expand the Azure hardware engineering department.

The new data center region will be the first in Taiwan and part of the 66 cloud regions set worldwide. Once functional, it will be capable of delivering Microsoft 365 enabled Microsoft Azure, Power Platform services, and Dynamics 365 will be added in the future. The official declaration of the exact investment amount has not been made.
