An American wireless network operator, a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, T-Mobile, announced on Wednesday to buy Mint Mobile—a prepaid wireless brand and other brands for USD 1.35 billion. T-Mobile plans to buy Ka’ena Corp, the parent company of Ryan Reynolds-backed budget service provider Mint Mobile. The telecom operator said they are acquiring these companies to scale in a competitive market. After the strategic takeover, the “Deadpool” star will continue to stay on in a creative capacity, and the telecom provider will keep the Mint Mobile brand.
Mr. Reynolds will continue to be the face of Mint Mobile’s ads.
