Synthesia Raises US$50M for Corporate Training

Synthesia has announced the closure of the US$ 50 million Series B funding  round led by Kleiner Perkins, with the participation of GV and existing investors Firstmark Capital, LDV Capital, Seedcamp and MMC Ventures.

Synthesia allows users to convert text or slide presentation into a video, including a talking avatar. Customers can use existing avatars, or create their own in minutes by uploading a video. Users can also upload their own voice recordings, which can be transformed to say anything under the sun.

Synthesia has added features that make it even easier for users to create animated speakers. The platform now has 1,000 custom avatars in use.
