Spice AI Inc., a startup that aims to make it easier to create blockchain applications, revealed today that it has raised USD 13.5 million in a seed round headed by Madrona Venture Group.
Along with Madrona, more than a half-dozen other investors took part in the round. The consortium comprised several institutional investors as well as Thomas Dohmke, the CEO of GitHub, a division of Microsoft Corp. A cloud platform provided by Spice AI, based in Seattle, claims to make it easier to create blockchain applications.
The platform also gives programmers the option to add AI capabilities to their creations. Spice AI intends to increase employee numbers and grow its operations in Asia and Australia in order to increase its market share.
