Snowflake, the data warehousing giant, has launched a new marketplace that will make it easier for businesses to access and share data.
Snowflake made the announcement as part of a bigger rollout of new services, improvements, and offerings at its annual Snowflake Summit. Snowflake went public in September and generated $214 million in product revenue in the first quarter, exceeding forecasts.
During a press conference, Snowflake senior vice president Christian Kleinerman stated that the business wanted to “reduce friction” and “simplify the process by which our customers have access to the data they need, when they need it.” He went on to say that the Data Marketplace will assist businesses extract value from data as they gathered more and more digital data.
