Slack Files Anti-trust Complaint against Microsoft in the EU

Slack has filed an anti-trust compliant against Microsoft in the EU. The company stated that
Microsoft is abusing the market dominance to crush the competition. Slack claims that the
company “illegally” bundles Teams into its Microsoft Office product.

The EU will decide whether to start an investigation regarding Microsoft’s practices after reviewing the complaint.

Teams is available for free to many of its Microsoft Office 365 business customers. The
company even offers a free version of its group-collaboration product. Meanwhile, Slack is available as a standalone service and application and comes with different price tiers. Both
Teams and Slack has benefitted because of the increase in remote working due to COVID-19.
