SK Telecom adds nearly 1 million new 5G subscribers

SK Telecom said on Wednesday it recorded an estimated 5 trillion lost and $ 400 billion in third-quarter operating revenue, an increase of 5% and 11.7%, respectively, since last year. Telco said it has seen continued growth in all of its businesses.

Its mobile network business has made revenue increase by about 3% annually to about 3 trillion won. At the same time, operating income increased by 22% annually to 320 billion won. SK Telecom said it had added 950,000 new 5G subscribers per quarter, bringing its total to 8.65 million.

Telco has said it will continue to make money on its 5G network to provide advanced cloud and data center services to business customers and its latest consumer-based marketing service. According to SK Telecom, apart from its main mobile network business, its content, security, and business content also grew.

Its IPTV business has seen operating revenue jump to about 21% annually to 78.6 billion winners, the company said it had increased its enrollment. Its security business, which provides online and physical security services to companies, has seen operating revenue increase by about 12% annually to 37.8 billion winners.
