ServiceNow Acquires Era Software to Deliver On Its Vision of Unified Observability

By ET Bureau - October 06, 2022 1 mins read

ServiceNow Inc. said that it’s planning to acquire a startup called Era Software Inc. in order to beef up the capabilities of its Lightstep observability platform. The company claims that once the acquisition is complete, Lightstep will be able to offer unified observability at a large scale, with customers receiving useful information from across their entire IT infrastructure.

Although the acquisition’s financial details were not made public, ServiceNow stated that it anticipated the deal to close by the fourth quarter of the year. The capabilities of Era and Lightstep, a business it purchased in May 2021 and which now serves as the foundation of its primary observability platform, will be combined, according to ServiceNow.

The company said that they believe they can expand unified observability workflows by fusing Era Software and Lightstep.
