Salesforce and Vimeo have announced job cuts that will affect about one-tenth of each company’s workforce. The companies’ reorganization plans come after a larger round of layoffs in the technology industry.
A recent study from Layoffs.fyi found that in 2023, job cuts would affect about 153,160 tech workers. In the previous year, approximately 1,172 employees were let go by technology companies. Marc Benioff, co-CEO of Salesforce, stated in an internal memo that was made public today that the cloud-based company will lay off about 10% of its workforce.

In December, Salesforce had about 79,000 employees, so more than 7,000 employees are likely to be impacted by the restructuring. The majority of the layoffs are anticipated to occur in the upcoming weeks.
