Rockwell Automation has agreed to acquire Israel-based cyber security company Avnet Data Security, reports ZDNet. This is a move for the company to expand its information solutions and connected services category. The Avnet suite for IoT will cost per consumption, licenses, and enterprise agreements. The deal is expected to be finalized in the coming months.
Rockwell Automation SVP, Frank Kulaszewicz stated that the acquisition would help the company achieve “double-digit growth in information solutions and connected services.” The company will benefit from Avnet’s combination of service delivery, training, research, and managed services. The acquisition will continue to accelerate Rockwell Automation’s portfolio development. Following the acquisition, Avnet plans to focus its IoT suite on its existing customers such as industrial and automotive hoping the company will bring systems integrators on board in the future.
