Red Hat OpenShift to be Driven to the Edge by Equinix and IBM

Equinix and IBM have announced that they would collaborate to create an IBM Cloud Satellite service, which will allow IBM to manage edge computing platforms running a Red Hat OpenShift platform based on Kubernetes on Equinix-managed IT infrastructure.

IBM Cloud Satellite enables an edge computing platform that can now be managed centrally via IBM cloud or Equinix data centers. Organizations can choose to have IBM manage their environment totally or to have IBM co-manage their applications. IBM Cloud Satellite allows teams to define a location that is populated by a group of RHEL hosts at its core.
