RealSense ID camera solution launched by Intel

Intel announced the expansion of the family of RealSense 3D cameras with an on-device solution meant for facial recognition. The new camera system blends an active depth sensor with a specially designed neural network. It was mainly developed to perform the facial authentication process on customer-facing devices like kiosks, ATMs, and POS.

The latest ID system uses the core technology of using cameras to measure depth and allow computing devices to analyze facial gestures and expressions. This tech has been packaged to make it easier to leverage it in the secure access control and retail scenarios.
