Racial equity and justice initiative receives _100 million from Apple

A new racial equity and justice initiative has been launched to support black developers. This initiative will be led by Linda Jackson, Environmental and Social VP. Apple intends to encourage spending with black-owned partner firms. Apple CEO Tim Cook stated that the organization is focusing on boosting support to community colleges, black colleges, and underserved educational establishments. They plan to increase the hiring of minorities, especially from the black community.

Other major technology organizations to join initiatives related to racial equity include Facebook, Google, Alphabet, etc. Apple has had a mixed history regarding its social equality initiatives.
