Quantinuum to Merge with Honeywell and Cambridge Quantum Computing

Honeywell announced this summer that it would spin off its Quantum Solutions division and merge it with Cambridge Quantum Computing, a quantum computing firm based in the United Kingdom. The transaction is now complete, and the new company is known as ‘Quantinuum.’

Honeywell, which sells everything from defense products to data center power management to consumer thermostats, stated that it will invest approximately $300 million in the new firm and assist with the production of the quantum computer’s ion traps.

The business is ideally positioned to provide actual, quantum computing products by combining the best-in-class quantum software with the highest performing hardware available, according to Ilyas Khan, the CEO, and founder.
