Qualcomm has recently announced that it is struggling to meet the growing demand for its processor chips – which are primarily used in gadgets as well as smartphones. Reportedly, this is happening due to the global chip shortage which first hit the auto industry. It is now expanding across the electronics businesses.
According to the company’s supplier executives, even Samsung Electronics is undergoing a shortage of application processors from Qualcomm.
The demand for Qualcomm chips has soared as Android phone makers seek to gain over consumers who are abandoning Huawei phones due to the US sanctions. As a result, Qualcomm has found it tricky to meet the high demand owing to shortage of the components used in its chips.
