Qualcomm Inc. has recently announced that it is struggling to keep up with the growing demand for its processor chips – which are used in gadgets and smartphones. Reportedly, this is happening because the chip shortage which first hit the auto industry is now expanding across the electronics business.
According to the company’s supplier team, even Samsung Electronics is experiencing a shortage of application processors from Qualcomm.
Basically, the demand for Qualcomm chips has soared as Android phone makers seek to gain over customers who are abandoning Huawei phones due to US sanctions. Thus, Qualcomm has found it tricky to meet this high demand due to a shortage of the components used in its chips.
