Qualcomm has unveiled a new chipset for mid-range smartphones, the Snapdragon 782G, also a successor to last year’s Snapdragon 778G+ chipset.
The new chipset, which is an incremental update, slightly boosts CPU and GPU performance. Similar to its predecessor, the Snapdragon 782G has a Kryo 670 Prime core that operates at 2.7GHz, three Kryo 670 Gold cores that can reach 2.2GHz, and four Kryo 670 Silver cores that can reach 1.9GHz. According to Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 782G would provide a 5% improvement in performance.

Even the internal GPU, the Adreno 642L, which offers a 10% performance boost, is the same as the previous chipset.
