Privacy Push From Google Draws US Antitrust Scrutiny

Google’s idea of blocking its ‘cookies’ is a source of concern for the US Justice Department investigators. The administration has been asking advertising companies whether the move around restricting web tracking tools by the company will hobble the smaller rivals.

Google announced a year back that it would ban some cookies within its Chrome browser in order to increase user privacy. Lately, it has released more information leading online ad rivals to complain about losing the data-gathering solution.

In this context, the demands from Justice Department investigators have reached the tech giant’s policies – including the ones related to cookies that affect the news as well as advertisement companies.
