Cisco announced the plan to take over Portshift, a Kubernetes security player. Portshift platform is required to protect cloud applications on a Kubernetes environment. The organization focuses on securing the containerized applications security and DevOps teams. The platform deploys an agentless measure for detection and mitigation of the Kubernetes misconfigurations. These misconfigurations are generally the main reason for security problems in container environments.

Cisco plans to use the Portshift tech to increase its security services across the app development lifecycle. Both organizations plan to join their upcoming tech group once the completer merger is done. Official declaration about the financial terms is yet to be done.
