Percona, a support business for open source databases, is now dipping its toes into database-as-a-service (DBaaS). Percona is demonstrating cloud-native MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB implementations at its annual Percona Live event this week.
The company is releasing a preview of the three databases, which are built on Kubernetes operators that the company has been creating for them. The valid previews are the next step in the platforms’ development of a more fully formed database-as-a-service implementation. Customers will no longer have to manually construct Percona-supported open-source database Kubernetes implementations.
