Internet of Things (IoT) solutions provider Orbcomm and mobile satellite communications provider Inmarsat have extended their Internet of Things (IoT) partnership through at least 2035. The aim is to provide next-generation IoT satellite services, telematics devices and end-to-end solutions that provide a combination of high bandwidth data packets with low-cost terminals.
The companies are developing a next-generation service called OGx, which will have two new offerings to suit future customer demand. It includes a high data rate service and an OGx offering that supports a daily message for multiple years on a satellite terminal utilizing a single AA battery.
