According to published reports, Oracle is still firing employees in the US. The move comes few months after the company announced a first round of layoffs and purchased Cerner, a company that specializes in healthcare data, for US$ 28.3 billion.
The layoffs coincide with a slowdown in IT job hiring as a result of concerns about a recession. 201 employees, including data scientists and developers, were let go by Oracle in its most recent round of layoffs.
According to reports in The San Francisco Chronicle and CRN, the company sent a letter to the California Employment Department on September 30 and began the layoffs soon after.
