Oracle has completed its acquisition of Cerner, a major provider of health information systems, with a star-studded ceremony that included statements from Oracle CEO Larry Ellison and appearances by celebrities such as former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.
Cerner’s existing system will be expanded and improved with the help of the company’s technologies. Integrating telecommunications with data storage to build a personalized portal is an important aspect of this strategy.
It will also be intimately integrated with users’ cell phones and wearable medical tracking devices, allowing them to submit current data to the Oracle Cloud on a regular basis.
