Bloomberg has reported that the U.S. Federal Trade Commission has opened an investigation into Nvidia Corp’s acquisition of Arm Ltd. The FTC has sent the required information demands to various third parties. Both FTC and Nvidia are not responding to requests outside the regular working hours. Nvidia has also made a deal with Japan’s Softbank Group to purchase UK-based chip manufacturer and designer Arm Holdings for approximately $40 billion. In addition to the FTC’s investigation, Alphabet Inc, Microsoft Corp and Qualcomm Inc have filed complaints to U.S. antitrust regulators about the Nvidia’s, Arm deal.
