Nium, a Singapore-based business payments company, has announced it has bagged over US$200 million in a recent funding round. Riverwood Capital, a technology investor, led the financing round. The company has joined the “unicorn” club of startups that are valued at US$1 billion and more.

The funding round also saw participation from Singapore state investor Temasek Holdings, Visa Inc, and Vertex Ventures. As of now, it had raised approximately US$300 million in capital.

The firm aims to use this fund to drive product development, purchase innovative companies as well as technologies, and expand its network infrastructure. Basically, the capital can also upkeep in speeding up its growth across the US and Latin America.
