Nium, the Singapore-based business payments company has recently announced it has raised more than $200 million in the new funding round. Riverwood Capital, the technology investor led the financing round. Besides, it joined the “unicorn” club of start-ups that are valued at $1 billion and over.
This round also saw participation from Visa Inc, Singapore state investor Temasek Holdings, and Vertex Ventures. So far, Nium had raised almost $300 million in capital.
It aims to use the funds to drive product development, expand its network infrastructure, and purchase innovative technologies and companies. In fact, the capital can also support in speeding up the company growth in the US and Latin America.
