Nearly half of Latin companies set to adopt AI by 2023, but skill challenges will remain

Artificial intelligence (AI) will be present in 40% of major organizations in Latin America by 2023, according to a study released by IT analyst IDC.

Companies in the region will also seek out management-related resources such as data management and security, according to a study by 5,000 large Latin American businesses. 

Despite the progress of AI adoption in the region, the analyst noted that 30% of companies will not be able to make full use of the technology due to a lack of skills and challenges regarding existing IT established by organizations. To address these challenges, the IDC advises companies to focus on technological implementation and complex contract negotiations required for AI intervention, while addressing areas such as automation.
