The Navy makes one of the largest cloud transitions in North America, marking the first time the Defense Department has successfully transitioned a significant business IT system to a commercial cloud environment. This is being counted as a massive success for the Navy ERP as it tracks nearly $70 billion in financial transactions each year.

The GovCloud took about 10 months to transition from a government-owned Navy enterprise data center to Amazon Web Services. The Navy plans to tackle and simplify multiple systems tracking transactions in its working capital funds. This migration along with the movement of other general ledgers will increase data visibility streamlining the process of deriving analytical reports.
