Mirantis Inc. has acquired Shipa Inc., a venture-backed startup that helps developers more quickly deploy software container applications in production.
In its announcement of the agreement today, Mirantis went into detail about how Shipa’s technology would be incorporated into its Lens application. In 2020, Mirantis acquired Lens by purchasing Lakend Labs Inc., a different startup. Through a single interface, the application lets developers manage various Kubernetes environments.
According to sources, the company spent between USD 10 million and USD 30 million to purchase Shipa. Investors had previously given the startup USD 3.75 million. For developers to save time, Shipa provides a platform that streamlines the configuration process.
