Microsoft Azure laid out its playbook to partner with different communications service providers by offering a carrier-grade platform for cloud and edge computing to allow network operators to realize the complete potential of 5G technology.
The new Azure for operators telco strategy is stimulated by its current and past telco-related work—including the partnerships with operators such as T-Mobile and AT&T, and its development of Azure Edge Zones—along with the acquisitions of telco-geared software makers Metaswitch and Affirmed Networks earlier this year.
Using Microsoft Azure along with machine-learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, operators can automate their operations to offer advanced services including low-latency, ultra reliable connectivity, network slicing, mixed-reality communications services, and highly scalable Internet of Things (IoT) apps to help transform industries.
The platform covers e entire enterprise technology space- including emerging technologies like RPA, AI, cloud, automation, and the entire gamut of digital transformation tools, strategies and management decisions.
