Microsoft to Bring New Changes to Windows 10 IoT Core and IoT Enterprise in 2021

Microsoft has announced it will combine Windows 10 IoT Core and Windows 10 IoT Enterprise in 2021. The combined version will be known as Windows 10 IoT Enterprise.

The company said the Windows for IoT platform will get a range of new features like over-the-air updates, reduction in OS size by up to 40%, and more. In addition, users will get the ability to run Linux workloads via Linux Containers with Azure IoT Edge on Windows.

Microsoft said it is planning to release Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) for this combined IoT Enterprise release in 2021.
