Microsoft has lays off 50 journalists in the US and 27 in the UK.. The journalists will be laid off by June 30. Microsoft said the workforce reduction is not related to the COVID-19 pandemic but due to a current shift in the economy to increasing usage of robots and AI. This move showcases how human jobs are being replaced by advanced AI and robot technology. The automated machine will use algorithms to identify trending news stories and curate them from their publishing partners for their MSN website. There are concerns about how the technology will handle news selection.
