Microsoft has announced the acquisition of Metaswitch Networks, which specializes in developing software for cloud-based communication networks. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The latest acquisition comes just a week after Microsoft acquired 5G specialist Affirmed Networks.

Microsoft said it will continue to partner with suppliers and network equipment partners, especially in the areas of virtualized services, orchestration, and operations support system/business support systems (OSS/BSS).
