Meilisearch, the creator behind the open-source search engine project of the same name, has closed a USD 15 million Series A round.
The round was led by Felicis, with participation from CRV, LocalGlobe, ESOP, Mango Capital, Seedcamp and Vercel CEO Guillermo Rauch. CEO Quentin de Quelen tells TechCrunch that the additional funding will support the growth of Meilisearch’s marketing and sales teams as the company adopts a “enterprise-focused” strategy.
The company is also planning to increase its investment in Meilisearch Cloud, which is set to debut in late November. Meilisearch has raised USD 22 million to date. By the end of the year, it hopes to increase its 25-person staff to 30, and by the end of 2023, to 50.
