For Lambda tasks, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has made the option of employing Graviton2 Arm-based processors widely available. The feature is available in the availability zones of Ohio, Mumbai, Sydney, Frankfurt, Singapore, Ireland, London, North Virginia, Tokyo, and Oregon.
When compared to x86 processors, the cloud giant claims that Arm processors give up to 19% more performance at a 20% lower cost.
In addition to the cost savings, functions based on the Arm architecture benefit from the Graviton2 processor’s performance and security. Workloads that use multithreading and multiprocessing, or that do a lot of I/O activities, can have a faster execution time, according to the company in a blog.
