KIO, a Mexican data center firm, plans to double the data center capacity in the next two years, reaping the benefits of President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador’s plan to boost nearshoring and tech firms’ expanding Latin American footprint.
KIO’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jorge Sapien stated that adopting data centers in the region has been slow because of organizations’ apprehension towards outsourcing their data hosting. KIO has 20 data centers in its portfolio and operates in five Nations. The Mexican data center vendor plans to expand operations in the northern Mexican city of Monterrey once they acquire land for their new data campus.
