On Monday, Intel Corp disclosed a few details on a chip for artificial intelligence (AI) computing it intends to release in 2025 as it changes its strategy to compete with Nvidia Corp and Advanced Micro Devices Inc., according to a report by Reuters.
Intel Corporation, an American multinational technology company headquartered in Santa Clara, California, announced its upcoming “Falcon Shores” chip would include 288 gigabytes of memory and assist 8-bit floating point computation at a supercomputing conference held in Germany on Monday. These technical functionalities are essential as artificial intelligence (AI) models like ChatGPT have grown exponentially in size, and enterprises are exploring opportunities for more robust chips to run them.
