Intel collaborates with Argonne National Laboratory to co-design and validate Exascale-class applications using the chipmaker’s GPUs, developer tools, and microarchitecture. Argonne will be using GPUs based on Intel’s XeHP microarchitecture and one API Toolkits.
Earlier in the week, AMD outlined its entry into the exascale mix with its Instinct MI100 GPU accelerator designed to work with its EPYC server processors.
Intel is also prepping to roll out its 3rd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors for HPC workloads. Customers for those processors include Oracle, Max Planck Computing & Data Facility, and the Korea Meteorological Administration.
