On September 2, 2020, Intel announced its 11th Gen Intel Core processor. The company previewed the processor’s chips in an earlier event in August 2020.
With its 11Gen Tiger Lake processor, integrated graphics and platform approach, the tech giant hopes to win over the AMD ultra-thin, high-performance laptop market.

Part of Intel’s Tiger Lake system-on-chip (SoC), the new 11th Gen ‘Willow Cove’ will be the successor to Sunny Cover CPUs. With four core processors, the Willow Cove microarchitecture generates 4.8 GHz compared to Intel’s 4.0 GHz for the 10th generation cores.
