Intel details plan to launch Blockchain accelerator chip-01

Intel Corp. has announced plans to launch a blockchain accelerator chip later this year that will be able the use of the algorithm.

The chip was created by a business unit known as the Custom Compute Group. Intel has set up a unit to “upgrade custom silicon platforms for customer service responsibility,” said Raja Koduri, senior vice president and general manager of the Accelerated Computing Systems and Graphics unit, which is part of the new business.

Custom Compute Group will also develop products for other markets outside the blockchain components.
